Junyi Xie is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer, works contain sculpture, painting, illustration, environmental and interior design, practicing primarily in acrylic, quartz sand, clay, plaster, resin, plastic, wax, and other digital software. Her work stems from observations of daily life, focus on exploring interactions with everyday objects, rethink a way to present some surprising or neglected phenomena surround everyday life, transform in art practice. Via explore surroundings that happen in a moment and change familiar things into extraordinary representation to express personal impressions for increasing our awareness in common objects and encouraging viewers to consider the potential of beauty and meaning in the ordinary.

Born in 1999 in Guangzhou, China, Junyi received a BA in 2021 from College of Architecture and Urban Planning in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). She studied Interior Design in The Glasgow School of Art where she received her MDes in 2023, and MA in sculpture in 2024 from The Royal College of Art. Her paper was included in ‘2021 China Institute of Interior Design Journal’ by Interior Design Branch of the Architecture Society of China. Her digital work has been won the Gold Award and published in ‘Chinese Design Annual 2020/2021’. In 2024, her sculpture work was exhibited in the new Wandsworth gallery space Steam Works, Crypt gallery, and Bankside Gallery.
