"Interesting" Design Expression in Environmental Art
The work is my BA graduation project for design in themed on childishness and is located in the eastern extension of Shenzhen Bay Street. It is designed around five functional space environments: the entrance city living room, entertainment activity space, green environment, rest space and public exhibition space. It is designed to activate the vitality of the city's public space and bring a different life experience, aiming to create an interesting and comfortable urban environment. The planning of the block master plan is basically in accordance with the original form of the block, and five nodes are set according to the five established functional activity spaces. The setting of the entrance "city living room" is based on the fact that the starting point of the site is close to the main road of the city, and it is also the starting point of the cross-entrance extension. There are many commercial buildings around, and it is also a gathering place for people flow. Therefore, the "city living room" is set at the entrance of the site as the starting point of the pedestrian block. According to some existing basic divisions of the block, the other four functional activity spaces are laid out to provide citizens and tourists from all directions with public spaces and places for sharing leisure time. The design introduces the layout of maze space and road form on some sites, and integrates relevant artistic concepts such as Mondrian's geometric abstract paintings and Magritte's surrealism, as well as some graffiti art.
