Clay, plaster, acrylic paints, and latex

Variable size

2024

Exhibited in Wandsworth gallery space of The Steam Room

The work created various forms of sweet food like cupcakes, jelly, cookies and combined with architectural features, represents an illusion to make people smaller for exploring tempting delights when we interact with confectionery in our everyday life, and it also serves as a reflection on the fleeting nature of pleasure and the delicate balance between indulgence and restraint in dessert diet. Through an imaginative portrayal of fantasy dessert landscape, I tried to offer a captivating exploration from my daily diet habits and sweet food addiction, reflect on its relationships with pleasure, temptation and indulgence. The work I used plaster with clay as primary materials, with acrylic paints to add colors and applied piping bags with latex to carve some details of cream, created a sense of flavors and textures in sweet, hope to evoke a feel of wonder and whimsy, inviting viewers rediscover the magic of desserts.
